Douglas Coupland is a writer like no other.
He has this amazing ability to create novels that are philosophies.
Although his novels have an amazing ability to distill the culture in which they
were made, they also adapt and give back to that culture profoundly.
Douglas Coupland's writing is at turns perceptive, parodic, hilarious,
prescriptive, emotional and spiritual.

He also has an amazing ability to engage his audience with highly emotional
character revelations that are absolutely personal and absolutely honest.
I can not think of a modern writer who is more gifted, forward thinking,
engaging or poetic than Douglas Coupland.
�
His writing has an amazing ability to take an audience out of time and space
and to unite them as a 'global youth'. Douglas Coupland's writing just sticks in
your mind. I don't know why. Perhaps this is an identification thing, since
Coupland is one of the first authors if not the author of this generation.
As in Shampoo Planet, I once found myself sitting in the cash office at work
penning on all the fifty dollar bills the fatal flaws of politicians and
mainstream media identities; and often without thinking I find myself
searching out Marge coffee shops when out of town.
