DAVID LYNCH +
TWIN PEAKS

The tiles are black and white.
The curtains are red velvet.
The man from another place leans back and laughs.
His suit looks to be made of satin.
His lips, feet
Slip over words, tiles, strange desires.
The coffee in here is as thick as oil.
The woman on the couch
cries
'Sometimes my arms bend back'.
In the red room, she knows her killer by name.
In the red room, she can do nothing
but sit on her hands and scream.
Cooper is here too
but old and knowing,
the picture of his compromise.
No one who moves through the sycamores
Ever quite makes it out.

Welcome into the trees
